- BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from Liverpool University
- MSc in Brewing Science from Birmingham University. UK. - formally the British School of Malting and Brewing Science
- M. Brew – Master Brewer qualification from the Institute of Brewing
- FIBD – Fellow of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling
Key Experience:
- Eight years as Head Brewer of Boddingtons Brewery Manchester (UK)
- Four Years Stella Artois Brewmaster (UK)
- One year study at Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan (Bavarian Brewing School)
- Institute of Brewing and Distilling examiner (Master Brewer exam)
- Extensive experience in small, medium and large ale and lager breweries brewing both processed and cask beer
- Brand development and flavour matching
- Recipe development - ales, lagers, speciality beers
- International Beer Competition judging, including: World Beer Cup, Brewing Industry International Awards and the Great American Beer Festival
- Franchise/contract brewing, brewery management, marketing liaison
